i~
~ -.
STATE OF COLD RADO RiCNARDO LAM M, GOVeino~ III III III III IIII III
DEPARTMENT OFNATURAL RESOURCES
D. Monte Pascoe, Executive Director
MINED LAND RECLAMATION
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 866-3667
David C. Shelton
Director
September 22, 1981
CHRONOLOGY
September 30, 1980
Flatiron submits amendment to Bourg coal permit to incorporate
rail loadout facility into interim permit. Flatiron indicates
that they wish to begin utilizing the siding by the end of
October.
October 22, 1980
The Division sends an adequacy letter to Flatiron outlining
the additional information Flatiron must submit relative to
the rail loadout facility in order for the amendment appli-
cation to be adequate. It is noted that Flatiron is entitled
to a review under interim standards, and that a permanent
program submission will also be required.
November/December 1980
Division requests for additional material are discussed with
Jay Stewart of Flatiron. Flatiron proposes the incorporation
of the loadout into the permanent program submission, since
rail loading of coal is not anticipated in the near future.
Division staff states that this is acceptable, but that the
loadout may not become operational until approval of the
permanent program permit.
February 26, 1981
Inspection of the Bourg mine site and proposed rail loadout
site. In speaking with Walt Byers mine superintendent, the
proposed loadout is discussed. Mr. Byers states to Mr. Savage
that since coal is being trucked to sites in Wyoming, the rail
Zoadout would not be needed in the near future.
