Trinidad Basin Plining, Inc., by consumating the succession of
operators request at the Trinidad Basin Mine, accepted the responsibility
of abating the above violations. The abatement date for each violation
is (x toter 13, 1980 and to abate the violation, Trinidad Basin Mining is
recruired to submit a Progress Report to MLE2 indicating what steps have
been taken to remedy the problems addressed in the respective violations.
The following information is submitted to satisfy the abatement conditions
noticed in violations BO-27 and 80-28.
Violation 80-28 - Failure to comply with Stipulation #3 attached
to Permit #79-53 by the Mined land Reclamation Board. Failure to submit
a plan in compliance with all applicable regulations for mining and
reclamation (or reclamation only) in Section 15.
Progress -Trinidad Hasin Mining has initiated intensive exploratory
and environm=_ntal studies to establish a mining and reclamation plan for
Section 15. Upon completion of the exploration program Trinidad Basin
Mining will use the information gained from the program to determine if
mining will occur in Section 15 or if the area will just be reclaimed.
Mineral i~sources and Engineering, Inc. sulmitted, on behalf of
TBM, a Notice of Intent to undertake an exploration program at the mine
site on September 5, 1980, and received approval to commnse the program
October 8, 1980. The exact location of the exploration program has not
been included because TBM considers this to be confidential information
and presenting it herein would breach their request of confidentiality.
