RE: NOV's C-90-035 and C-90-036
Dear Mr. Mount:
Violation C-90-035, issued for failure to
stabilize topsoil stockpiles 8 and 13, required
a stabilization plan be submitted by September
14, 1990. The required plan was submitted to the
Division on September 13 and 26, 1990. The
sediment control for stockpile 8 consisted of
placement of straw bales as a catchment. This
activity was completed on September 6, 1990. The
construction of a catchment ditch and basin on
stockpile 13 was required to be completed by
October 31, 1990. Both stockpiles were required
to be seeded by October 31, 1990. All of the
abatement work on those two stockpiles was
completed on October 26, 1990. The catchment
basin fox topsoil stockpile 13 was designed to be
a minimum dimension of 10 feet wide by 75 feet
long, with a 3 foot high berm. Due to field
conditions, two catchments were actually
constructed, each with a dimension of 10' x 40'
x 3', exceeding the design specifications. Both
stockpiles were seeded and mulched.
Violation C-90-036, issued for failure to
vegetate and stabilize side slopes of ponds 002,
004, and 005, required stabilization by October
31, 1990. Minor Revision No. 12 was submitted to
the Division on September 26, 1990 to address
remedial actions for pond slopes. In accordance
with the approved MR 12, all remediation action
on pond slopes was completed on October 26, 1990.
