On behalf of Louisiana Land & Gravel Company, <br />following are its responses to the DMG's comments and concerns: <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />The wash plant was added to the list of facilities in the Exhibit C text. A detailed <br />description was added to the Exhibit D text. Handling pond cleanings is <br />explained in Exhibit D. Construction features designed to protect ground water <br />resources are explained in Exhibit G. <br />The Operator is working with the State Engineers Office to confirm it has the <br />right to utilize the waste irrigation water. Until confirmation is received, the <br />Operator will purchase water from off site sources for use in its mining and <br />washing operations. <br />Montrose County approved aggregate washing through its Special Use Permit <br />SU-02-0052. Exhibit M was revised accordingly, <br />A discussion of the engineering specifications for the ditch liner was added to the <br />Exhibit D text. <br />An updated comment letter from the Division of Wildlife is incorporated into <br />Exhibit H. <br />The reclamation plan map was revised to show th DeJohNAllen fence and <br />access road restored. <br />The maps were revised to show 3H:1 V side slopes for the topsoil stockpiles. <br />The requested wording regarding reportable spills was added to the mine plan <br />text at the end of Exhibit D. <br />Through this permit amendment, the Operator revised the postmining land use of <br />the slopes to rangeland and wildlife habitat. The Operator has decided to <br />amended its seed mix on the slopes to include two shrub species to enhance <br />
