Gunnison Mining
and Reclamation Plan to add 4 to 8 groundwater monitoring wells.
With respect to the stipulations contained in the permit approval,
West Elk has the following comments.
In Stipulation 1, the BLM has requested that litho logic and other
logs of strata penetrated and a description of conditions
encountered be submitted. West Elk does not expect to do detailed
logs on the holes to be drilled. However, any information collected
during drilling with respect to strata encountered will be provided
to the BLM.
With respect to Stipulation No. 6, which requires that the top three
feet of casing be removed from the drill holes upon final
reclamation and filled with soil, West Elk respectfully requests
approval to leave the surface casing in the drill holes. This
allows for identification of the drill hole locations, should it be
necessary to relocate them at a later date.
All other stipulations to the permit will be adhered to.
Sincerely,
~--- -
~'~•
Paige B: Seville
Senior Permits Coordinator
PBB:tmd
cc: Rocky Bowman, WECC
John Ellenberger, WECC
