Gunnison <br />No. 1 Mine, Weet Elk Coal Company (WECC) <br />The Branch of Solid Minerals, Grand Junction Office, has reviewed WECC's minor <br />permit revision proposal to drill between 4 and 8 water-monitoring wells to <br />record changes in water quality and quantity which may result from subsidence <br />effects brought about by retreat mining in WECC's subsidence test panel. With <br />regards to the regulatory responsibilities of this office, the plan was found <br />to be complete and adequate subject to the following stipulations: <br />1. One copy of the following moat be submitted within 30 days after each <br />calendar year to Chief, Branch of Solid Minerals: <br />a. Lithologic and any other loge of strata penetrated and conditions <br />encountered. <br />b. Drill hole location map showing enact hole locations; each hole being <br />appropriately identified by number or letter with the data being tied <br />to such number or letter designation. <br />c. List of hole numbers and depths drilled. <br />2. All ground water-monitoring wells must be completed and cemented so as to <br />isolate all aquifer intervals which show significant head differences or <br />changes in water quality in order to prevent miring of unlike waters. 7 <br />'i <br />
