Utilization of Coal <br />Reserves and Mine Plan -This letter allows for mining areas outside of the lease boundary <br />in the NWl/4 of the NEl/4 of sec. 16. This letter is referenced in OSM's letter of <br />November 19, 1979. <br />November 8, (Exhibit 13, Current Permit Application) Letter from O.C. to BLM -This letter <br />requests a modification of coal lease C069942 to include 120 acres in the N1/2 of the <br />NE1/4 of sec. 16, and N1/2 of NEl/4 of sec. 15. <br />January 9, (Exhibit 7, Current Permit Application) U.S.G.S. Environmental Analysis -This <br />analysis only covers the coal lease in Sl/2 of NEl/4 of sec. 16, this coincide with current <br />(1992) permit boundary. <br />October 24, (Archive File, Revision to Permit) Interim Mining and Reclamation Permit -was <br />issued <br />February 26, (Exhibit 5, Current Permit Application) SCS, Inventory and Evaluation of Land, <br />Water, and Related Resources -Study area includes the 120 acres outside the current (1992) <br />permit area. <br />November 19, (Permit Review Correspondence File) OSM letter to the O.C. mine from <br />Donald A. Crane with concurrences from Johnson, Hagan and Hauley - In this letter OSM <br />determines that the modifications requested by O.C. are "minor" and acknowledges that O.C. <br />is mining outside the lease area but that this had been approved by the U.S.G.S. This letter <br />contained the following statement. <br />Since the Ohio Creek No. 2 Mine received approval from the Geologic Survey (1978) <br />to mine the coal in Lease No. C-069942 and the area immediately north of the lease <br />and south of a projected fault, the proposed mining of the coal is considered to be <br />an implementation of the previously approved plan. <br />1980 <br />December 16, (Replaced Pages in Permit Application) Permanent Program Application for <br />a Permit to Conduct Coal Mining and Reclamation Activities -Page 2 of permit application <br />submitted by operator lists acreage to be permitted as 200 acres and the proposed public <br />notice contains the legal description for 200 acres. <br />
