Long <br />Division Director <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals end Geology has completed a <br />preliminary adequacy review of your application for an amendment to <br />your existing Regular 112 Permit to add 3 new mining phases to the <br />approved operation. The comments provided below should be <br />responded to in a timely manner in order to have all Division <br />concerns resolved prior to the Decision Date of January 31, 1994. <br />ESTIMATED LIFE OF MINE <br />There appears to be a discrepancy between the estimated life of <br />mine as indicated on the Public Notice (approx. year 2030) versus <br />that indicated in the Mining Plen portion of the Amendment <br />Application (approx. 5-7 years). Please clarify. <br />FOST MINING LAND USE _ <br />A slight inconsistency is noted in ~th ae pplicntion regarding the <br />selected post-mining land use. The Public Notice 'and Application <br />Form indicate rangeland/recreat.ion use, whereas Exhibit G - Water <br />Information mentions a possible additional use of residential <br />sites. Please clarify the intended post-mining land use and modify <br />appropriate ser.tions of the application to maintain consistency <br />between the Public Notice and the Amendment Application. If the <br />applir_ant wishes to include residential sites as part of the <br />intended postmining land use, then the Public Notice may need to be <br />modified and re-published. <br />MINE PLAN AND RECLAMATION PLAN MAPS <br />Although the Mine Plan Map is generally well prepared and detailed, <br />the boundary line designations shown in the legend block do not <br />appear to coincide with the line symbols actually used on the map. <br />Please clarify the information contained on the map and/or the <br />information contained in the legend block such that phase <br />boundaries (each phase 1 thru 7), existing disturbed area <br />boundaries, reclaimed area boundaries, and overall affected area <br /> <br />1 <br />
