Loye, Reclamation Specialist <br />Gentlemen: <br />The zoning ordinance of the City of Canon City provide:>, among <br />other things, that a permitted nonconforming use in a zoned <br />district cannot be expanded or enlarged. <br />Youi first communication to the City of Canon City included a <br />description containing the E 1/2 of Section 31, Township 18 South, <br />Range 70 West of the 6th P. M. The SE 1/4 of said section is within <br />the City limits. Sturbaum Construction Company operated a gravel <br />pit in a small portion of the SE 1/4 of this section for a number <br />of years, and its operation was a permitted non-conforming use. <br />Since Mr. Sturbaum has sold his operation and the quarry that <br />he operated within the City limits to Mr. Ernest Snider, Mr. Snider <br />has requested an enlargement of the mined land reclamation permit <br />formerly held by Sturbaum. The amended description which is <br />attached to this document and which described the lands to be <br />utilized by Mr. Snider in his operation with the City floes not <br />violate the ordinance of the City of Canon City. <br />~. <br />
