•
Mined Land Reclamation Division
July 20, 1982
Page Two
•
It is the opinion of the undersigned that the pe:_mitted
nonconforming use will not be expanded or Enlarged by the issuance
of the permit to Mr. Snider. The quantity of material removed
in quarries located within the City and the crushing and ~~peration
within the City to be conducted by Mr. Snider in the future, of
course, will be monitored by the City, along with the general
enforcement of its zoning ordinance, and if an enlargement or
expansion from its historic use occurs for reasons other than
utilization of lands, the City will take appropriate action at
that time.
Some of the officials of the City have beers requested by Mr. Mark
Loye to express an opinion as to whether the City desires or does
not desire the quarrying under the enlarged permit sought by Mr.
Snider. The City Council has taken no action on this request
and will not. Among other reasons, the request includ~~s lands
which do not lie within the corporate limits of Canon City.
Again, the undersigned wishes to state that the inclusion. of the
lands described on the attachment within the permit of Mr. Snider
does not violate the zoning ordinance of the City of Canon City.
Yours very truly,
Sammy Wittffier
Zoning Administrator
Enc.
