The following is the current status of the adequacy review. The format of this
letter follows that of the Division's July 21, 20001etter.
Proposed revised Map 14, Mine Plan, shows that there would be langwall mining in the
federal right-of--way, the amendment #1 to the federal right-of--way and the Iron Point
Tract lease areas. The Division's understanding is that only development mining is
allowed in these three areas at this time. Please comment or provide a revised Map 14
showing only development mining in these three areas.
The Division has no further concerns. BRL supplied a revised Map No. 14 in the
submittal dated July 24, 2000 that shows that there is no proposed longwall mining in the
federal acreage at this time. Also, the Division sent a letter, dated July 28, 2000, detailing
the process that the Division requires in order for BRL to seek approval to longwall mine
in the federal azeas.
2. Apparently, the federal right-of--way and amendment #1 designations on Map 14 have
caused some confusion. P[ense modify the designations to show only those corridors that
can be development mined under the right-of--way and amendment #l to the right-of--way.
The Division has no further concerns. The submittal dated July 24, 2000 contained
revised Maps Nos. 14 and 27 that show only the right-of-way azeas for development
mining only.
