's Loveland Pit, File No. M-2000-034,
Completion of 112 Construction Materials Reclamation Permit Application
Project No. 0864-030
Dear Ms. Chiappone:
On March 9, 2000, we received your letter regarding Exhibit S -Permanent Man-
Made Structures for the Loveland Pit. During our telephone conversation about the
letter and necessary requirements to complete the application, you referred me to other
application reviewers at the DMG. Eventually I spoke with Allen Sorenson. I
discussed the particular situation with him in some detail. He explained that in the
situation as described to him, a distance of 2 pit depths should be sufficient distance
away from the structures in the vicinity of the pit.
Using Mr. Sorenson's approach, we have amended Exhibit S to include language that
meets and exceeds this rule of thumb.
We believe, per conversations with yourself, Greg, and Allen that the amended Exhibit
S, included with this letter, is sufficient to begin technical review of the application. If
you have questions or concerns please feel free to call.
Finally, in our phone conversation you mentioned a recent DMG office memorandum
detailing guidelines for evaluation of Exhibit S. If this document is a matter of public
record, or otherwise not of a confidential or sensitive nature, we would appreciate a
copy so we may avoid this sort of mistake and delay in the future.
Thank you for your cooperation and guidance through the application process.
Sincerely,
T T C., CONSULTING
~'
ark A.
