• • EX~TT S
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
Mining pit depth will vary, but shall be no deeper than 25 feet from existing ground
surface in any location. In most areas, based on soil bore data, bedrock (weathered shale)
is at depths of approximately 20 feet. This is the anticipated depth of the pits.
The following structures are located within 200 feet of the permit bounda~.
• Commercial structure-owned by Wright Reconditioning RECEIVED
• Commercial structure~wned by Newco, Inc. MAR 3 0 2000
• Commercial structure~wned by Bob's Auto Electric
• Shop, Barns, Residence-owned by Robert Reichert Division of Minerab 8 Geobyy
• Roadway-Larimer County Road 13
• Utilities
1. Transmission lines~wned by Western Area Power Authority
2. Oil Well, tank and associated power lines-owned by Magpie Operating
Company
3. 6" water line-owned by City of Loveland (under St. Louis Avenue)
• Batch plant and storage shop-owned by Western MobilelLafarge
Of these structures, the Wright Reconditioning and Newco, Inc. buildings are located
over 450 feet from the nearest edge of excavation. By observation and inspection, these
structures will not be subject to soil instability due to mining activities.
The batch plant and storage building owned by Western Mobile/Lafarge will be removed
prior to commencement of Phase 3.
The lease agreement signed by Robert and Peggy Ann Reichert and Western
Mobile/Lafarge allows Western Mobile to mine within 50 feet of any existing buildings.
Western Mobile also agrees to replace Mr. Reichert's deer fence if deemed necessary. A
copy of this agreement has been included in Appendix S-1. The pertinent portion is on
page 4 of the GRAVEL PROPERTY LEASE WITH RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL.
Setbacks of 100 feet from the edge of pavement of Larimer County Road 13 have been
included in the mining plan. This provides between 4 and 5 times the pit depth horizontal
distance from mining face to structure. Again, by observation and inspection these
structures will not be subject to soil instability due to mining activities. This setback also
protects any and all underground utilities located in the right of way, including the 6"
water line mentioned above.
Excavation activities will be set back from the remaining structures, the oil well, tank,
power lines, and transmission power lines a minimum of 60 feet, 2.4 to 3 times pit depth.
This setback distance should insure slope stability and provide a factor of safety.
