Dept. of Natural Resources <br />The West Elk Coal Company has requested to establish three water monitor- <br />ing wells to be located on U.S. Forest Service land in Sections 33 and 34, <br />T.135., R.90W., 6th P.M. <br />The Forest Service requests that the following recommendations and stipu- <br />lations for the water monitoring wells be attached: <br />1. Existing roads will be utilized. <br />2. Trash created by any of the operations will be either burned or <br />scattered as agreed upon by ARCO and the District Ranger. If burning <br />is done, permission must be granted by the District Ranger as to time <br />when burning may occur. <br />3. Topsoil will be stripped and saved when the drill site is opened and <br />used to reclaim the site when work is completed. Seeding requirements <br />are for 15 pounds per acre of pure live seed using the following species <br />of plants <br />Lbs/Acre <br />90Y P.L.S. <br />Mountain Brome (Bromus marginatus) 4 <br />Orchard Grass (Dactylis glomerata) 2 <br />Pubescent Wheatgrass (Agropyron trichoporum) 3 <br />Timothy (Phleum pratense) 2 <br />Arizona fescue (Festuca arizonica) 3 <br />Alsike Clover (Trifolium hybridum) 1 <br />*15 <br />*These rates apply when the seed is to be drilled.
