Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division has completed a preliminary adequacy review of the above referenced <br />application. Please respond to each of the adequacy concerns identified below in a timely <br />manner so that all Division concerns can be adequately resolved prior to the decision date. <br />Please be advised that the application may be deemed inadequate, and your application <br />may be denied on April 10. 2001, unless the following adequacy items are addressed to <br />the satisfaction of the Division. Please provide your responses sufficiently in advance of <br />the decision date to allow DMG staff adequate time to review the response. In the <br />alternative, you can request in writing an extension to the decision date if additional time <br />is needed to respond to the comments provided below. <br />Adequacy Items <br />1. The application appears to indicate that the mine access road, from Hwy 145, <br />already exists. However, several of the objecting parties have asserted that the <br />application is in error because the proposed mine access road has not yet been <br />constructed. Please clarify whether the proposed mine access road was <br />constructed prior to the completeness date for the application. If the road was not <br />constructed prior to January 11, 2001, please clarify the statements in the <br />application which appear to indicate that the access road is an existing road. <br />Regardless of the date of construction, the application states that the proposed <br />access road from Hwy 145 will be substantially upgraded to support the mining <br />operation.
