III I II I II I II IIII III Doc Date:12/11/2001 <br />sss <br />LJICi~ 2.05.6 Mitigation of Surface Coal Mining Operation Impacts <br />• (1) Air pollution control plan <br />(a) All permit applications for existing operations shall contain a <br />copy of an initially approved or finally approved emission permit <br />if applicable from the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission, <br />Air Pollution Control Division or the Air Quality Hearing Board. <br />All permit applications for new operations shall contain a copy of <br />the application for such emission permit and shall be updated <br />accordingly as initial or final decisions are rendered. <br />(b) All permit applications shall contain a description of the steps to <br />be taken, including copies of permits or permit applications, if <br />any, to comply with other applicable State or Federal air quality <br />Iaws or regulations. <br />RESPONSE <br />All point sources of fugitive dust have emission permits issued <br />by the Colorado Department of Health, Air Pollution ~ Control -_ <br />Division. The permits which have been issued are included. _ <br />These permits describe the location of each permit and the <br />specific equipment and/or acitivity to which the permit applies. <br />Also the general terms and conditions of the permit are ex- <br />• plained. Basically these are control measures which are neces- <br />sary to minimize fugitive dust. H-G Coal will follow the terms <br />and conditions stated in these permits. In addition to the <br />requirements stated, H-G Coal will endeavor to do the following: <br />(1) Promptly remove coal, rock, soil, and other dust <br />forming debris from roads and scrape as needed un- <br />paved roads to stabilize the road surface. <br />(2) Revegetate, mulch, or otherwise stabilize all areas <br />adjoinging roads that are sources of fugitive dust. <br />(3) Restrict the travel of certain vehicles on other than <br />established roads. <br />(4) Minimize the total disturbed acreage at any particular <br />point in time. <br />. ' (5) Promptly revegetate regraded lands. <br />
