F'F10J GFFiiE Tii <br />',.. ;ti <br />• III IIII III • <br />IIIIIIIII99 <br />199280589 <br />83RD JOINT VEN7'[TRE <br />VNELD COUNTY, COLORADO <br />-1`~~".`J F ~J <br />In accordance with the terms and conditions of this Department of the Army permit, 83rd <br />Joint Venture is granted authorization by the Secretary of the Army to excavate and pace fill <br />material. into isolated wetlands in conjunction with sand and gravel mining. <br />The permittee will mine between 110 and 115 acres of the 124 acre project site. There is a <br />total of 13.6 acres of jurisdictional wetlands that will be impacted. Mining will occur in <br />three phases over 15 to 20 years. <br />Phase I -This phase is located on the east side of the property and will require about 8 years <br />to mine. There are 4.0 acres of original wetlands that will be excavated. Groundwater will <br />be pumped from the active pit and piped to the Phase III area where existing wetlands will be <br />eniazged by excavation of uplands to create 4.0 acres of temporary mitigation wetlands. <br />Phase II -There are 2.9 acres of original wetlands located in this phase area. Construction <br />of the Phase I final mitigation wetlands (7.0 acres) will be completed within 1 year of the <br />initiation of mining in Fhase II. Addidonai temporary mitigation wetlands (4.0 acres) and <br />the original existing wetlands (6.7 acres) will still be in place in the Phase III area. <br />Phase III -There are 6.7 acres of original wetlands that will be excavated. Construction of <br />the Phase R final mitigation wetlands (5.9 acres) will be completed within 1 year of the <br />initiation of mining in Phase III. <br />Upon complexion of mining, there will be two 50 to 60 acre lakes created on the project site. <br />The perimeter of both lakes will consist of mitigated wetlands. <br />
