Box 1190
Fort Collins, Colorado 80522
RE: Norton Gravel Pit Application - File No. M-85-135
Dear Ms. Spencer:
We have reviewed the above-referenced application and have the following
questions and comments. Please address each of these issues separately and in
detail at least seven (7) working days prior to the September 21-22, 1985
meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board.
Exhi it C - Pre-Mining Map
1. The Division is requesting more detailed information as to Lorimer
County's arrangements with:
a. Sinclair Pipeline Company; and,
b. R. E. A.
Documentation similar to the contract between the ditch owner and
Lorimer County will be helpful. Statements signed by Sinclair and
R.E.A. representatives, which indicate that plans are either in
progress or complete, would also suffice. Our main concern is that
any potential damage to these structures is clearly covered prior to
mining.
Exhibit D -Mining Plan
(~1. Please verify that all available topsoil will be salvaged and stored
separately from overburden materials.
~. Provide an estimate of the total amount of topsoil (cubic yards) to be
stored at any one time.
423 Centennial Building, 1373 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
