The following adequacy concerns have been identified and are
listed for each application.
Berthoud Pink Quarries
1. The mine plan should contain a commitment to salvaging all
available topsoil and fines for later use in reclamati n. The map
should show where the salvaged material wilt be stockpiled. The
operator must commit to seeding this material to preve t erosion if
stockpiles wilt remain in place for more than one seas n.
2. The map must identify any adjacent landowners.
3. The map showing the southern mine area should include Uhe length of
the eastern boundary. I.
4. The access road between the north and south permit areas should be
included in the permit boundary.
5. Calculations by the Division for the northern permit a ea show this
area to be 8.5 acres based upon map lengths given. Th southern
area could not be calculated because the eastern lengt was not
included. However, according to operator this area is 2.5 acres
making the permit boundary over 10 acres not including roads. A
limited impact permit must be under 10 acres. Areas o er 10 acres
must be covered in a regular (112) permit. Please com nt.
6. How deep will these quarries be mined?
7. Will any vertical highwall be left upon completion of Dining?
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 TeM. (303) 866-3567
