Gunnison No. 1 Mine mining plan <br />pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act, and <br />other laws and regulations protecting cultural <br />resources. <br />I have reviewed the Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine mining and <br />reclamation plan approval document of July 15, 1981 and <br />find the following documents: <br />Le[cer from Bruce E. Rippeteau, Colorado State Archeologist <br />to L.G. Kline, Atlantic Richfield Company, dated June 1, <br />1977, concurring with findings and management <br />recommendations of report titled Archaeological <br />Reconnaissance of the M[. Gunnison Mine 111 and its Suooort <br />Letter from J.E. Hartmann, Curator of Historic Preservation, <br />State Historical Society of Colorado, for the Stale Historic <br />Preservation Officer, to L.G. Kline, Atlantic Richfield <br />Company, dated July 11, 1977, concurring with agency <br />findings that no properties located within the project <br />impact area appear to meet the criteria of eligibility for <br />the National Register of Historic Places. <br />I have also reviewed the Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine mining and <br />reclamation plan modification number 1 approval document of <br />August 16, 1985 and find the following documents: <br />Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance for 320 acre <br />Permit Revision, dated June 14, 1985, from David C. Shelton, <br />Director, Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division which on <br />page 7, third paragraph, states; "No surface facilities are <br />proposed for this revision." <br />Environmental Assessment, West Elk Coal Company, Mt. <br />Gunnison No. 1 Mlne, Mining Plan Modification, August 1985, <br />which on page 3, second paragraph, states; "No new surface <br />disturbance is planned for this revision." <br />
