General Comment;
This was a complete yuarterly inspection of the Red Canyon mine. Ditches and culverts in
the surface facilities area had recently been cleaned out and, in general, were clean
and functional. Problems noted in previous inspection reports have been resolved.
The area which could potentially be affected by .subsidence as a result of Red Canyon's
proposed full extraction test panel was visited during the inspection.' The area includes
portions of an irrigated pasture and associated ditches, a dirt road 10-15 feet in width
and pinyon-juniper woodland. The surface owner, Mr. Dale Parker, has indicated to the
operator that he is planning to build a house adjacent to the potentially affected area.
The operator stated that P1r. Parker has indicated that he does not want to see any of his
Iand subsided and that he will object to the full extraction test panel. The technical
revision for the test panel has not yet been submitted to the Division. A1r. Parker has
contacted the Division by phone to express his concern on this matter, and indicated
that he would submit formal written comments in the near future.
. _ ~ _ ~ _ y --__ .e. __ .. _~lh..., .~ ~l _~ _ - --- -
