iii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
999
January 6, 2000
James Dillie
Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman St Rm 215
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Dear Mr. Dillie;
This letter is to keep you informed of our concern of the blasting being done by the
Cripple Creek and Victor Mining Company in Victor, Colorado.
Enclosed are copies of all the blasts we have felt over the past 6 years. As you can see
from this list, the blasting is becoming more frequent and the 'big' blasts, more regular.
Instead of seeing a decline because of our concern and input, we are seeing an
increase.
Also enclosed is a copy of an Associated Press newspaper article dated January 27,
1999 stating that "Within the next 60 days, the company must do an analysis of its
blasting at the mine to determine whether anything needs to be done to prevent
damage to historic buildings in nearby Victor." We had been in contact with the mining
company prior, during and after this time. Why weren't our concerns addressed during
this analysis? We have sent a letter to the mining company, asking this same question.
As you can see, we take this matter very seriously, and until we have a satisfactory
solution to our problem, we will continue to contact you and others.
Sincerely,
Sam 8 Karen Morrison
The Victor Trading Co. & Manufacturing Works
PO Box 53
114 South Third Street
Victor, CO 80860
71989-2346
