December 23, 1999
James Dillie
Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman St Rm 215
Denver CO 80203-2273
Dear Sir:
We have received your report of the inspection of the CCV mining operation. We
understand, as we have ALWAYS stated, that CCV has not exceeded the PPV with
their blasting.
What they are doing, however, is shaking our building. What we are, and have been
asking is "who has given them the RIGHT to be able to shake our building, which is
NOT inside their permit area?"
We have previously denied them any right to shake this building that is located on
private property. We agree that they have every right to mine on their property, which is
in their permit area. What we do not agree to, is that they have a right to impact our
property. (Which they have been doing several time a week since 1994.) We have
records of when we have felt each blast.
We understand that the 'state' is monitoring the blasting at CcV., but vre are private
citizens and feel that our rights have been overridden by the rights of this huge foreign
Company.
Sincerely,
Sam & Karen Morrison
PO Box 53
Victor, CO 80860
cc Cripple Creek and Victor Mining Company (Anglo Gold)
PS All future correspondences will be cc to the following list (including all previous and
current correspondence copies).
Colorado Historical Society
National Park Service
Roger Flynn
James Marlow
Colin Hendersen
Bruce Humphries
Joel Hefly
Gov.
