We hope to address the issues raised in your letter by the information we provide in the following
paragraphs and the attached exhibit materials. Your adequacy letter included language from the Rules
and Regulations for many items and exhibits that you identified as being already adequately addressed,
but this response will include only headings and subjects requiring a response. Our responses, starting
below, are arranged similarly to the questions shown in your letter,to help facilitate your review.
Public Review: We will ensure that this adequacy response packet to you will be placed for public review
with the Custer County Clerk and Recorder, and we will provide a receipt to you for such placement of
materials. If said receipt is not enclosed herewith, it will be sent to you promptly.
Boundary Markers: We will endeavor to mark the proposed permit boundaries for the upcoming site
inspection. Please inform us of your tentative schedule so that we can be available during that time.
APPLICATION FORM:
Items#12 and 13: We had originally marked the Pre-mining and Post-mining land uses on the fillable pdf
application form, but some information was not reflected when we printed it for submittal to DRMS.
The Pre-and Post-mining land use is "Rangeland" (RL). We have resubmitted this information on the
appropriate page of the application, enclosed herewith.
Page 8—Certification Form: Please see the enclosed page, with signature and seal as appropriate to our
corporation.
Rule 6.2—GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF EXHIBITS
Rule 6.2.1(2)(a) -We are resubmitting all of our maps with our name added: "Colorado Quarries Inc"
Rule 6.2.1(2)(d) -We originally provided a set of maps with the intent of complying with the applicable
rules. Given the 146-acre size of the 112c permit area proposed, and that all activity described in this
conversion is limited to "Phase I" of the expanded permit area, which lies south of the overhead electric
lines, we felt that providing detailed mining and reclamation maps which include only Phase I would be
adequate, especially when reproduced at the appropriate scale.
Affected areas within the proposed 112c permit will be located south of the electric lines(Phase 1) and
north of the electric lines(Phase II). This application seeks to expand the permit area, but only Phase I
activities are currently being considered and thus described in this application. Eventually the operator
