On-site Monitor Well Readings/Measurements and Off-Site Well Readings/Measurements:
Revision of the existing permit to reflect changes/revisions needed for the on-site monitoring
well and off-site well readings/measurements.
A detailed description of the revision is below:
On-site Monitor Well Readings/Measurements and Off-Site Well Readings/Measurements:
Revision of the existing permit to reflect changes/revisions needed for the on-site monitoring
well and off-site well readings/measurements.
The approved permit has a monitoring plan that includes on-site monitoring wells and off-site wells that
are monitored monthly taking readings/measurements at several locations. We would like to revise the
monitoring plan based on changes interior to the gravel mine and also based on issues with tenant
farmers that are not able to shut down wells in order for the monitoring/readings/measurements to
occur in certain months.
The proposed revisions to the monitoring plan are as follows:
1. The on-site monitor wells that are currently able to get readings/measurements from are MW-2,
MW-3, MW-6, MW-7, MW-8, MW-9, MW-14, MW-15, MW-16, MW-17, and MW-18. MW-1, MW-
4, MW-5, MW-10, MW-11, MW-12, MW-13 are no longer able to be used because of the need
to take them out for the slurry wall construction. The monitor wells MW-1 through MW-15 were
all constructed when the first soils/slurry wall subsurface investigation was performed. The
drilling contractor installed monitor wells at every hole location but they are all not needed to
monitor the groundwater at the site especially after the slurry wall is constructed as many of the
monitor wells lie within the interior of the slurry wall. Once the slurry wall is constructed the
monitor wells that will continue to have readings/measurements will be MW-2, MW-3, MW-7,
V 305 Denver Avenue—Suite D•Fort Lupton CO 80621 •Ph: 303-857-6222•Fax: 303-857-6224
