As approved in TR-79, CC&V currently pumps the
excess HGM solution to a series of injection wells located on AGVLF. Due to the high pumping cost
CC&V would like to explore new options to efficiently reuse the excess solution coming from the HGM.
CC&V proposes to install a new gravity fed line from the HGM to the SGVLF. The line will drain the
excess solution into an infiltration gallery located on the 9,650 bench or into the active drip line system.
Background
The HGM solution originates from the high pH circuit and is used in the cyanide leach circuit. The
chemistry of the solution is essentially the same as the solution circulating within the VLFs; both are the
same pH level and cyanide level. This proposal is related to TR-79: High Grade Mill Solution Piping to
AGVLF Injection Drains and is intended to replace the injection well system. Since CC&V has
commissioned the HGM the solution has been continuously managed and the cost of pumping solution up
hill to AGVLF has proven to be cost prohibitive. With the growth of the SGVLF, CC&V now has
additional alternatives to manage the solution. Furthermore, the addition of the HGM solution to the
SGVLF will better aid in gold recovery and improve operational efficiency for both the HGM and
SGVLF.
Modifications to the Approved Mine Plan
Through TR-92 CC&V proposes the installation of a new four inch HDPE pipeline to deliver the excess
HGM solution to SGVLF for use on the leach pad. The line will transfer about 125 to 250 gallons per
minute to SGVLF. The pipeline will be approximately 1,950 feet long and will drop approximately 250
1
