Morton Lakes DRM&S Permit # M-2008- 082
October 2, 2015
Overview of Morton Lakes Technical Revision (TR -001)
The purpose of this Technical Revision (TR -001) is to locate the
primary haul truck and pit access for the Holton -Morton Lakes Sand and
Gravel Pit (DRM&S Permit # M-2007-008 Holton Lakes) via a Technical
Revision of DRM&S Permit # M-2008-082 (Morton Lakes).
On March 26, 2009 the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining &
Safety (Division) approved Ready Mixed Concrete Company's (RMCC)
112c mining and reclamation permit for the Morton Lakes Pit (DRM&S
Permit # M-2008-082).
The Morton Lakes Permit (Morton) is contiguous to the Holton Lakes
Permit # M-2007-008 (Holton) with the two permits sharing a common
boundary along the east boundary of Morton and west boundary of Holton.
On February 26, 2010 the Division approved TR 002 of Permit #M-2007-
008, which authorizes RMCC to mine and reclaim the common boundary
between Holton and Morton properties.
DRM&S Permit #M-2008-082 TR -001 revises the Morton mining plan
by relocating the primary Holton -Morton access road from Holton (see
attached Holton Lakes Mine Plan - Exhibit "D") to Morton via an existing
Highway 52 access to be shared by RMCC, A&W Water, Anadarko and
Claystone Construction (see attached Morton Lakes Mine Plan -Exhibit "D").
Following reclamation, the Morton Lakes access road will remain for
continued use by A&W Water, Anadarko, Claystone Construction and for
future property management of the Holton -Morton developed water storage
reservoirs.
Division's Definition of Technical Revision
The "Mineral Rules and Regulations of The Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board for the Extraction of Construction Materials" states at
definition (49) page 10 Construction Materials Rule 1 "Technical Revision
means a change in the permit or an application, which does not have more
than a minor effect upon the approved or proposed Reclamation Plan.
