RECEIVED
'-'SEP 18 2014
Division of Redamatitsn,
braun Mining&Safety
kBraun Environmental, Inc.
355 S.Teller St,Suite 200,Lakewood,Colorado 80226 Office:303-697-0950 888-988-7698 Fax 303-697-2140
September 17,2014
m Cazier
Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety(DRMS)
1313 Sherman,Room 215
Denver Colorado 80203
RE:Mineral Mountain Permit No M-2014-045-Responses to September 8,2014 Comments 1/
Dear Mr.Cazier:
I have reviewed your letter dated September 8,2014,and have attached responses to each of the comments.
Per our discussion on the phone earlier this morning concerning Lor Pelleigrino's question on behalf of Teller
County about the site location with respect to the County's digital maps,I was not able to reach her. However, she
did leave me the same question on a voice message earlier in the week and the answer is an easy one. When Teller
County put together their GIS database, they relied on a multitude of different maps, some of which were of good
quality and others that were of lesser quality. As a result, the county maps are quite accurate in certain areas, and
inaccurate in others. The north side of Mineral Hill is one of those areas that their source information is poor, and
that is the root of the problem discussed by Ms.Pellegrino. The permit maps are sourced from actual surveys and
survey points located on the ground. Sometime in the future,Teller County might want to improve the locational
quality of their maps in this area.
Based on your September 8,2014 letter,I thought that my responses only needed today's postmark, but after our
conversation I now know better. Since time is getting short with respect to the review of this permit application,I
will send it to you via email and will do whatever I can to help both of us get through it this afternoon. Since it might
be more important for you that I be available,I will plan on postponing getting the printing done and instead will plan
on sending out the paper version tomorrow. If you want me to take time today to get the printing done, that will also
be fine. Just let me know.
Call me with questions or comments at 303-988-7697
Sincerely,
BRAUN ENVIRONMENTAL,INC.
eeoe, Ao'lm'
C.A.
