O. Box 1430 <br />Palisade CO 81526 <br />Dear People: <br />CIVIL ENGINEERING <br />CONST. MANAGEMENT <br />Snowcap Coal Company, Inc. (SCC) is responsible for the reclamation of the Roadside North and <br />South Portals under Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS), Permit No. C- 1981 -041. <br />The mine ceased mining in December, 1999. <br />SCC has formally requested a bond release from the DRMS asking that approximately 145 acres <br />of reclaimed surface lands and 2147 acres of undisturbed surface lands be partially or completely <br />released from the bond. In accordance with the Division's Rule 3.03.2(1), SCC is required to <br />send written notice of its bond release request to adjacent land owners, surface owners and <br />various local governing bodies. <br />The area for which the bond release is being requested is the Roadside Mines, North and South <br />Portals, and are located approximately three miles northeast of Palisade, CO at the Interstate 70, <br />Cameo Exit No. 46. The areas SCC is requesting bond release on are the Roadside North <br />Portal, Cameo Refuse Disposal Areas, Cameo Borrow and Topsoil Stockpile Areas, Roadside <br />South Refuse and Borrow Areas, North Decline Area, South Fan and 2 West Portals Areas, <br />Substations A. B and G, all reclaimed sediment ponds and miscellaneous drill pads and roads. <br />Portions of the areas requested for release have been undermined. The areas are more <br />particularly described as follows: <br />Township 10 South, Range 98 West, 6th P.M., Mesa County CO <br />All or portions of Sections 26, 27, 28, 34 & 35 <br />Township 11 South, Range 98 West, 6th P.M., Mesa County CO <br />All or portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, & 13 <br />Township 11 South, Range 97 West, 6th P.M., Mesa County CO <br />All or portions of Section 7 <br />All work has been performed in accordance with plans approved by the DRMS. <br />Sing rely, <br />Tonya ammond <br />Owner's Representative <br />
