4.03.1(3)(a). About 73 feet of this road segment exceeds 10% grade (Station 4 +47 to
5 +20). There is no place on this road that exceeds a pitch grade of 15% and the overall
road grade is less than 10 %.
The anticipated traffic on the haul road is either 10 wheel dump trucks or —25 ton haul
trucks. At full permitted production 10 wheel dump trucks would make 37 round trips
per hour and 25 ton haul trucks would make 16 round trips per hour. The speed on the
road will be less than 30 mph. The 30 foot wide haul road is considered appropriate
for the anticipated volume of traffic and weight and speed of the haul trucks. The 10
wheel dump trucks make significantly more trips than the 25 ton haul trucks. However,
10 wheel dump trucks are less than eight feet wide so passing on the 30 foot wide haul
road will not be a problem.
To the best of my knowledge and belief, the gob pile haul road was constructed as
designed and in accordance with the approved plan and the regulations,
James E.
