The anticipated size of the reclamation area is
approximately 9 acres and will include the on -shore disturbed areas
as well as the newly - placed fill area within the lake.
Native grasses, shrubs, and trees will be planted in the approximate
locations shown on the revised reclamation plan map (Attachment 3).
Native grass species may include switchgrass, side oats grama,
needle and thread, sand bluestem, prairie sandreed, slender
wheatgrass, blue grama, or equivalent. Lower growing seed mixes
will be used in higher use areas, while taller growth mixes will be
used in transition areas into more thickets. Native thorny vegetation
may include Washington Hawthorne or equivalent.
The originally approved reclamation plan called for planting
cottonwood, willow, and Russian olive trees. Cottonwood and
willow will be planted; however, Russian olive trees will not be
planted. Revegetation of the Debetz Pit fill material will provide
wildlife habitat and recreational/fishing opportunities that comply
with the approved reclamation plan.
Reclamation activities are anticipated to begin between October 2014
and October 2015 depending on when the Debetz Pit construction
activities are completed. The Debetz construction schedule is
entirely dependent on the South Platte Interceptor Pipeline
construction progress since that project is providing fill material.
3) Please provide anew Reclamation Plan Map in accordance with Rule 64.6
of the Construction Materials Rules and Regulations.
a.
