HOW
State.co.us Executive Branch Mail - Fwd: AsOWR Tag 41- 205400
not provide any information and stated ask
the Colorado Division of Water Resources
what the tag is for. THE NUMBERS ARE
12054005 BUT DOES NOT HAVE ANY
MORE INFORMATION.
Dear Linda,
my apologies, I got your email address wrong the first try.
Steve
On Thu, Aug 1, 2013 at 2:20 PM, Witte - DNR, Steve <steve.witte@state.co.us>
wrote:
Dear Linda,
Your inquiry to AskDWR has been routed to me for response.
You wrote: "The monitoring well MWNW is on our property and has
a tag on it. When and why was it tagged #1- 205400. Was the water
that Energy Fuels pumped from this well from 1991 -1994 in an
aquifer? If we continue to use it a a monitoring well after Energy
Fuels has left, what do we have to do and do we have to report the
results to anyone?
First, I want to try to verify that the tag you discovered on the well
is one of ours. That will help me reply to your question more
appropriately. The tags we use are made red plastic with white
lettering which either read "WATER COMMISSIONER/ STATE OF
COLORADO/ DO NOT REMOVE/ 719 - 542 -3368 /99999999" or
"State of CO/ Water Resources/ Do not Remove /719- 542 -3368/
9999999 ". Our tag numbers are either 7 or 8 numeric figures and
there are no alpha characters such as "Tag #" and there are no
hyphens included. Unless the tag on this well matches one of the
specified formats exactly, I do not believe that it is one of our tags.
Please confirm the readings reported and let me know how they
read.
However, if this is one of our tags, then we will need to verify that it
is, in fact recognized as a monitoring well in our records. Once we
have the tag number issue straightened out, we should be able to
determine the location of the well from our field logs, however, it
might actually help expedite matters if you could let us know a
street address or Section /Township /Range location description.
If water has previously been pumped from this well at any point in
the past, this well almost certainly is tapping into an aquifer. In
your reply, will you also include a brief description of how you have
https: / /mail.g oog le.conVmai I /u /0 / ?ui =2 &i Ire29129fcb5 &view = pt &search =i nbox&th= 1403fdb36ab8dC)dc 4/7
