July 18, 2013
Tim Cazier
Division of Reclamation, Ming and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
RECEIVED
Ili ii ? ?!i13
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
RE: M- 2000 -041 Evans Pit #2
Fremont Paving & Redi -Mix Inc.
Exhibits C Mine Plan Map, D Mining Plan and E Reclamation Plan
Amendment AM -01
Dear Mr. Cazier,
Fremont Paving & Redi -Mix Inc. respectfully submits the following Exhibit C Mine Plan Map, Exhibit D
Mining Plan and Exhibit E Reclamation Plan to replace the current Exhibit C, Exhibit D and Exhibit E
submitted at the time of the original application.
Exhibit D: Mining Plan
Within each phase, upon posting appropriate financial warranty, topsoil and overburden will be stripped
and stored in designated overburden stockpile areas. Material will be extracted to a false pit floor. Mining
will progress across the bonded area, conveying raw material to the processing area in Parcels 1, 2 and 3
of Phase I. Naturals and fines may be stockpiled in the pit for use in concurrent reclamation.
Exhibit E: Reclamation Plan
Stonewall Springs Quarry LLC, owner, intends to construct water storage reservoirs, and wetlands as
final reclamation. The 448 acre permitted area is divided into three phases with final reclamation
described in Table 1. Approximately 75 acres make up the Riparian Area and Nyberg Road buffer zone
which will remain undisturbed during the life of the mine.
Phase I
Parcels 1, 2 and 3 are the processing area, product stockpile area and sedimentation pond which will
remain during mining. Final reclamation is proposed as wetlands with interim reclamation as open space.
To achieve interim reclamation, the area will be backfilled to a minimum of three feet above static
groundwater level with sides sloped no steeper the 3H:1V, blending with surrounding topography. The
area will be seeded with the previously approved seed mix provided in Table 2 and mulched with two
tons /acre of straw, crimping the straw into the soil. Reclamation of Parcels 1, 2 and 3 is not anticipated
until all phases are mined out approximately 15 years.
Crqj\V /iirrorqjMq ee nnLcal I //,\ I I LcerrnaLfl\V /ess Ilnc,
1107 Main Street, Canon City, CO 81212
www.envalternatives.com - e -mail: eai @bresnan.net
Phone: 719 - 275 -8951 - Fax: 719 - 275 -1715
