Trapper Mining, Inc. <br />C- 1981 -010; PR7 <br />Adequacy Review No. 1 <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />approval of this revision to require that a Cultural and Historic Resource inventory and survey be conducted <br />to comply with Rule 2.04.4 prior to disturbing /affecting any area within the proposed expansion area. <br />2.04.5, General Description of Hydrology and Geology; <br />6. Prior to any disturbance within the expansion area, section 2.07 of the permit will need to be updated to <br />provide the information required by Rule 2.04.5. The Division will add a stipulation to the approval of this <br />permit revision to this effect. <br />2.04.6 Geology Description; <br />7. A review of the site specific Geology baseline information contained in the permit currently does not appear <br />to extend into the PR7 expansion area. Rule 2.04.6(2) for surface mining activities requires a description of <br />the geology within the proposed area to be affected over the life of the operation down to and including the <br />first aquifer and other coal seams, if any, below the lowest coal seam to be mined. Prior to mining in the <br />proposed expansion area, the Operator will need to submit a permit revision to the application that contains <br />the information required in Rule 2.04.6(2). The Division will add a stipulation to the approval of this permit <br />revision to this effect. <br />2.04.7 Hydrology Description <br />8. Based on the surface and ground water analyses discussed in section 2.07 of the permit, it does not appear <br />the surface and ground water system of the expansion area has been analyzed. This information is required <br />for the proposed permit area and adjacent areas, not just area that are to be disturbed. <br />a. For the expansion area please submit a description of the ground water hydrology for the proposed <br />permit and adjacent area in accordance with Rule 2.04.7(1)(a). <br />b. For the expansion area please update the surface water information contained in permit section 2.7.4 <br />with the information required from Rule 2.04.7(2)(a) and (2)(b)(1). <br />9. Prior to mining within the expansion area, the applicant will need to provide water quality data from surface <br />waters in, discharging into, or which receive flows from surface or ground water from affected areas within <br />the proposed permit area in accordance with Rule 2.04.7(2)(b)(11). The Division will stipulate the approval <br />of this revision to this affect. <br />10. In accordance with Rule 2.04.7(3); prior to mining in the proposed expansion area, Trapper will need to <br />evaluate if the mining operation may result in contamination, diminution, or interruption of an underground <br />or surface source of water within the proposed permit area and adjacent areas for domestic, agricultural, <br />industrial, fish and wild -life, or other legitimate use. The Division will stipulate the approval of this permit <br />revision to require Trapper to submit a permit revision with the information required by Rule 2.04.7(3) prior <br />to mining in the proposed expansion area. <br />11. For the expansion area, please submit a map that depicts the location and extent of sub - surface water, if <br />encountered within the proposed permit and adjacent areas, including but not limited to areal and vertical <br />distribution of aquifers, and an estimate of seasonal variations of aquifer characteristics on cross section and <br />contour maps as appropriate; in accordance with rule 2.04.7(4)(c). <br />
