3a Maps delineating contributing sub - basins, diversion, and /or collection channels and sediment
pond
Response:
As no "higher sulfide" material stockpile exists, no design for such is possible or necessary.
3b Rationale for run -off estimation using SCE /NRCS curves
Response:
Since no "higher sulfide material stockpile" exists nor is anticipated, no such calculations are appropriate
for this site concerning the sulfide materials.
3c Peak flow calculations /analysis for each diversion and /or collection channel
Response:
Since no "higher sulfide material stockpile" exists nor is anticipated, no such calculations are appropriate
for this site pertaining to materials which contain sulfides.
3d Sediment pond sizing (volume) calculation /analysis for 100 -year, 24 hour event
Response:
Since no "higher sulfide material stockpile" exists nor is anticipated, no such calculations are appropriate
for this site in relation to high sulfide materials. The current work area occupies historically disturbed
areas, so, in relation to silt generation not more than 1 acre of new disturbance has occurred nor is it
anticipated to occur. The current storm water regulations exempt sites having disturbance of less than
one acre and we are currently in discussions with CDPHE concerning the site.
4 DRMS could not find storm water hydraulic analysis or design drawings for the channels,
ponds or spillways. (4a,1, ii, iii), 4b
Response:
There appears to be some confusion on the scale of this project and production rate for material that
might be mined. The site includes about 3 acres or disturbed ground, slightly more than would be
disturbed for a typical mountain cabin. That surface area being used in the operation has been
previously disturbed by past mining events and the modern footprint is nearly totally contained within
that same historical area. No point discharge sources (sulfide ores, etc.) are known to have historically
existed at the site, nor are any anticipated in the future. Future drainage patterns are anticipated to be
nearly identical to historical patterns. As a result, no sediment ponds, regulatory required diversion
