COMMENTS
This was a partial inspection of the Keenesburg Mine conducted by Susan Burgmaier of DRMS. Danny Kipp of
Coors Energy Company was present during the inspection. Weather conditions were clear and warm; ground
conditions were dry. Ash disposal was underway in the B-Pit,in the lower lift of the northernmost portion of the
pit.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
No fugitive dust was observed during the inspection. A light breeze was blowing at the time of the
inspection,but ash in the B-Pit area was not being transported due to its moisture content.

The dugout pond and sediment pond were both dry. The B-Pit floor was also dry.

Roads and road ditches were dry and in good condition.
REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15❑ Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Portions of reclamation parcels 30,29,and 25 were walked.
Parcel 30 was treated last fall with a pre-emergent herbicide to target cheatgrass. Parcel 30 had very little
cheatgrass;there were a few strips that appeared to coincide with areas that were not overlapped when sprayed.
Parcel 29 had not been sprayed, and had significant cheatgrass cover.
The operator discussed plans to spray additional areas within the permit boundary this fall,including some areas
