June 27,2013 C-1996-084/Lorencito Canyon Mine RDZ <br /> ditches: the ditch above Pond 913 has a 10-foot deep gully,and large rocks in the ditch have washed <br /> into the pond. The slope of this ditch is 23 degrees(measured with a clinometer). The road is currently <br /> not in danger,but if the gully gets worse,possible solutions to this erosion should be discussed with <br /> NECC. <br /> Best Management Practices for sediment and erosion control was observed in four locations. <br /> • Above Fill 9,wattles were observed from below and looked to be functioning. <br /> • Near the shrub plot,the straw bales were inspected and are functioning; no maintenance is needed <br /> at this time. <br /> • The bales below the SAE near Pond 6 appear to be functioning well. <br /> • The erosion control practices next to the emergency spillway of Pond 6 are working well. <br /> GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> The mine was generally found to be in compliance with the mine plan. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS-Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br /> No large weed patches were seen on the site. One thistle was observed on Fill 9. <br /> Some rills were seen near the shrub plot and should be monitored. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15 <br /> Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> The shrub plot was inspected,and the plants appear to be surviving. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> Near Pond 8, a permit boundary marker was observed. <br /> ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE <br /> No enforcement actions were taken as a result of this inspection. <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 9 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
