June 27,2013 C-1981-012/New Elk Mine RDZ <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The Development Waste Disposal Area(aka DWDA2)was inspected and no rills or other problems were <br /> identified. <br /> No gullies or other problems were identified at the RDA. <br /> The Development Coal Waste Pile (aka DWDAI)was inspected and no rills or other problems were <br /> identified. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> At the west end, a rubble pile (concrete and other debris)is still in place. Mr.Thompson indicated that it <br /> would be moved in year 2013 to a proper location. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> Some stream buffer signs were in place,but Mr. Thompson indicated that some need to be replaced <br /> as wind has blown them down. <br /> The address on entrance signs has been temporarily updated,but a permanent change is pending. <br /> OFFSITE SUPPORT FACILIITES - Rule 4.04,4.28: <br /> At the Jansen Loadout,two Komatsu loaders were loading coal into the hopper,and, at the other end of <br /> the site,train cars were being loaded. No problems were identified.
