Assessment and development of plans have continued for the Pandora Mill building. An asbestos
abatement plan is being prepared and a request for proposal will be sent to abatement contractors
for bid. The abatement effort may be conducted over a period of two years.
6. An asbestos - containing material (ACM) inspection of the Red Mountain Shop was conducted.
The results of the inspection indicated that asbestos is present in the floor tiles, some pipe
insulation, and joint compound. Due to the nature and/or quantities of these materials, they are not
considered regulated ACM and, under Colorado law, do not require an abatement contractor for
removal.
7. The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted an inspection of the permit area on
November 9, 2012. No problems or possible violations were noted in the inspection report. The
inspection report indicated that the mine operation was found to be in full compliance with the rules
and regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board.
