RECLAMATION PLAN
1. General Reclamation Plan
EXHIBIT E
The total area of the permit is 94.95 acres. The permit has both a disturbed area (77.85 acres) and
an undisturbed area (11.54 acres). Much of the undisturbed areas are perimeter areas of the pit.
The reclaimed land use is shown in Table E -1.
Table E -1 Uncompahgre Pit Reclamation Land Use
Land Use
Area acres
Reve etated (Hay meadow and dryland pasture)
76.06
Access Roads left in lace
1.43
Undisturbed Areas
17.46
Total
94.95
Reclamation will be conducted as new areas are disturbed throughout the year. This will most
likely happen in small increments a few times per year, with topsoil, crusher fines, and
overburden being placed in the previously excavated areas of the pit. This concurrent
reclamation helps minimized disturbed area and keep the bond low. See Map F -1 for details.
The proposed reclamation is to backfill the Camilletti area to something closer to the original
contour, with minimum 4H:1 V slopes. The backfilling will be accomplished with overburden
and fines from on site, and imported fill possibly. Any material imported from off -site will be
certified inert.
Approximately 12.47 acres of the Hayden Gravel Pit will be utilized as processing and storage,
after mining occurs (see Map C -2). The processing area will be reclaimed to dryland pasture.
The remaining portions of the Hayden Gravel Pit will be reclaimed to a maximum of 3H:1 V
slopes.
The pit will strip topsoil and place this topsoil directly on regraded mined out areas in back of the
pit. In this way, reclamation will be concurrent and the maximum pit exposed area at any one
Hayden Gravel Pit, May 2013 E -1
