June 4,2013 C-1982-057/Seneca 11-W Mine JLE
along this road. The Division checked the culverts long this road and they were clear and functional.
For Road K,the Division measured the width and grade of this road at a point about 381 feet east of grade stake
5+00. The width of the road was 15 feet wide and the grade was about 12%. The Division interpolated the grade
at this point based on Exhibit No. 20-3 and found it to be about 10%. This slight difference in grade is allowable.
The surface of the road was recently graded and maintained. The road appears to be draining properly and large
rills and gullies were not observed along this road. The road was approved to be 20 feet wide.
The grade and width of Road J was verified during the May 14, 2013 inspection. Please see that report for details.
During this inspection it was noted that the surface of the road was recently graded and maintained. The road
appears to be draining properly and large rills and gullies were not observed along this road.
For the Mine Entrance Road/County Road 53,the Division checked the grade at four points along the road. The
approved post mine road width is 28 feet. The first point was at culvert F-3 the road was measured to be 30 feet
in width and at 5%grade. The Division interpolated the grade of this road based on Exhibit 20-3 and found it to
be 5%. The next point was at culvert ME-2,the road was measured to be 28 feet and at a 1.5%grade. The
Division interpolated the grade at this point based on the Exhibit 20-3 and found it to be about 3.3%. The next
point was at about the 30+00 grade stake based on the Exhibit 20-2 map. The width of the road at this point was
measured to be 28 feet and the grade was found to be about 4%. The Division interpolated the grade of this road
based on Exhibit 20 3 and found it to be 5%. The next point was at culvert ME-1,the width of the road was 28
feet and the grade was measured to be 1%. The Division interpolated the grade of the road at this point based on
Exhibit 20-3 and found it to be 0%. Minor rills were observed at several location along the road embankment,
however large rills and gullies were not observed. It appears that SCC is attempting to stabilize the areas with
vegetation and straw waddles. Overall the road is well maintained and appears to drain properly.
SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04:
The area around the shop is graded and maintained and equipment is stored throughout this area.
Enclosures:
1.)Attachment A; Transect 1, 2, and 4 Post Mine Topography Check, Table and Chart.
2.)Seneca II-WMine;.Tune 2013Inspection Map.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 12
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 8 of 12
