Collom Area Geology Pre - Feasibility Report
Table 7.1
Geologic Model Extent Coordinates
Eastern Limit:
1,370,100
Western Limit:
1,302,500
Northern Limit:
373,900
Southern Limit:
319,700
The geologic reserve model was created using the StratModelTm application in
MineScapeTM, developed by Mincom, Inc. Details pertaining to StratModel are
located in the StratModel "How to Use StratModel' manual in Appendix J.
The geological reserve model uses pre- mining topographic surface as part of the
actual model. This grid surface exists at a 25 -feet grid cell size over the full
extent of the model area.
The geologic reserve model contains 77 coal seams, a surface of oxidation, a top
of Trout Creek surface, the Trout Creek Sandstone Member and one trend
surface. The StratModel schema controlling the geologic model is called
11 schema_colowyo ". The model was built using the "height" surface interpolator.
The final geologic reserve model contains approximately 1,575 drill holes. The
final StratModel grid was created using a 100 -feet grid cell size.
Additionally, floor elevations from in -pit survey data were incorporated into the
geological model to provide better local control within the West Pit mine area. In-
pit survey data exists for the Al, A2, A3, B2, C5, D2, E2, and F1 seams.
The geologic modeling process consisted of building a geologic model and then
constructing approximately 40 cross sections through reserve areas and
producing thickness and structural contour maps for each modeled seam, The
cross sections and contours were reviewed for correlation errors and anomalies.
Changes to the drill hole database and /or to modeling parameters were made as
August 2005 Page 28 of 38
