In the area column, the upper number is the total acreage, and the lower number is the maximum acreage at
one time (if different). In the four columns on the right, the upper numbers are the percentage of total
affected area expected to require that task be done, (NOT a percentage of the total amount of that area) and
the lower number is the maximum acreage at one time requiring that task.7
2. Work Area (3.8 acres) will not require backfill or grading, but at the end of operations work includes:
removing gravel surfacing (to be sold and removed), spreading soil (stored in perimeter stockpiles around the
work area) then seeding. The sediment basin will be left but will be soiled and seeded.
3. Roads and their fringes are permanent and will remain. Routine maintenance will continue through the
mining and reclamation period. No additional work is needed at the end of mining, assuming maintenance is
performed in a manner similar to county roads.
4. The road along the WAPA powerline adjacent to the Work Area will not be affected or disturbed for mining
and is not affected land.
5. Swales, berms, and other storm water control features of the edge of the Mining Area will be constructed as
mining progresses, using overburden for backfill; as mining is completed in a given area and the area is
reclaimed, soil (stored in the berms on the edge) will be spread and seeded.
6. Seeding includes application of fertilizer (if applicable) and mulch.
7. The largest area to be in active operations (mining and reclamation) is 7.3 acres with an exterior perimeter of
1740 linear feet (3.3 acres), of which 1.6 acres is the south (lower edge) and 1.7 acres is the north /west
perimeter. This is expected to be in year 3 -4; with less land disturbed before and after. As shown in the table
above, the produces the following percentage of the areas requiring reclamation:
7 Maximum area to be disturbed at any one time:
Location within maximum acreage to be disturbed at anytime in the
Area
W
0
(0
U)
life of the operation.
(acres)
s
m
=
a
`D
Pit floor
4.0
Percentage:
100
100
100
100
North and west perimeter
1.7
Percentage:
10
10
100
100
South edge
1.6
Percentage:
1 10
1 10
1 0
90
TOTAL
7.3
Acres:
1 4.3
1 4.3
1 7.1
7.1
