5DT1795.1 and continues north for 2280 feet. No additional features or artifacts were noted. <br />According to the Colorado Division of Water Resources, water for the pipeline was <br />appropriated in 1883 and adjudicated in 1889 (Structure ID no. 2737). It is still unknown when <br />the pipeline was constructed. <br />t:valuatio <br />and Management Recommendations <br />Segment 5DT1795.1 has been declared officially not eligible for listing on the NRHP. <br />Segment. 513T 1795.2 is also field evaluated as not eligible and no further work is <br />recommended. <br />Site 5DT1824. a historic inscription. is located on a boulder in Stevens Gulch, due west <br />of the Morrell Crow Camp. An unnamed spring, lies 130 meters north of the site. Elevation is <br />approximately 7920 feet. Vegetation consists of aspen trees and very dense grasses. Soils are a <br />tan. sandy loam aeolian deposition of undetermined depth. Ground cover is nearly 100%. <br />The site measures 12m east -west by 8m north - south. The sandstone boulder measures <br />8m east -west by 4m north- south. The inscriptions are located on the north side of the boulder. <br />The first inscription is V The second is a single <br />MM <br />These may be related to the Morrell Cow Camp. located 200 meters west of the <br />inscriptions. No additional features or artifacts ,.rere discovered. <br />Evaluation and Management Recommendations <br />This site is not associated with historically significant events. persons, distinctive <br />design construction, and lacks potential to yield additional information important to the history <br />of the area (Criteria A, B. C and D). Accordingly. it is field evaluated as not eligible for listing <br />on the NRHP. No further work is recommended. <br />Site 5DT1825.1. a historic trail, is located 175m southwest of the West Fork of Terror <br />Creek. Elevation is between 7640 and 7680 feet. Vegetation is primarily oak-brush with skunk <br />cabbage and short grasses. Soils are a tan aeolian deposition. Depth is variable, however may <br />be substantial (over 1 m) and evidenced in road cuts and disturbed areas. Ground visibility is <br />approximately 5 -25 %. <br />The segment measures 1000m in length. The trail is aligned in a general northwest - <br />southeast direction. Width is variable. but estimated to be about 3 -5m. A stock pond and a <br />recently disturbed area were mapped with the trail. It is possible that it served as a cattle trail. <br />It follows a pack trail as indicated on the Bowie Quadrangle Map (1965, 1978). Nearly the <br />entire portion of the trail has been surveyed, either with the current project or with previous <br />work and no historic properties were found to be associated with it.
