(a) Mining will commence in the summer of 2013 upon approval of this permit. It is unknown what
the duration of the mining will be given the short season at altitude, but it is thought be at least
10 years.
(b) Although much of the mine is barren of topsoil, areas that have some vegetative cover will be
salvaged to a depth of 6 inches. The soil stockpile will be placed along the northeastern
perimeter of the mine. The material will be placed in an area away from the mine traffic and
with natural run -off features. The material will be compacted to stabilize it for reclamation use.
(c) There is little to no overburden or waste rock on site.
(d) The ore body ranges from 12 -17 feet to bedrock. On the bottom 2 -3 feet there is a clay layer.
It is nearly barren of gold.
(e) The operation will consist of a dry screening area where the material will be classified to minus 3
inch. This process will use a 6 inch stationary grizzly. The oversize will eject to the side and the
minus 6 inch will fall onto a 3 inch vibratory screen deck and be classified to minus 3 inch. The
minus 3 inch will be trucked to the wash plant. There the material will be loaded into a feed
hopper and conveyed to a course gold trap (sluice) which will feed the trommel. The trommel
will have a 4 screen and the oversize will eject out the end. The undersized will drop onto a 30
foot sluice box. The tailings will be placed along the east property line. The tailings area will be
approximately 248 feet by 60 feet. There will be a small stockpile of head ore placed above the
pond near the wash plant and the stockpile will be replenished with material from the dry
screening area throughout the day. There will be no change to the existing rocks in the area,
however a haul road will need to be built on site to encompass the mine face, dry screening
area, wash plant and tailings area. The pit will open below and to the east of the pond. It will
have sides from 12 —17 feet and will be cut in at a 3:1 slope. The cut will be approximately 100
feet wide. There will be an office trailer as well as a maintenance area and a truck mounted fuel
truck.
(f) There are two small ponds on the site. The larger of the two is approximately 300 feet long and
90 feet wide. The smaller pond is 135 feet long and 35 feet wide. The mine face will be
approximately 100 feet wide and 12 —17 feet high and will be sloped at 3:1. The tailings area
will be placed along the east prospect line and will run for about 270 feet. There will be a small
stockpile area which will contain between 30 — 50 yards of material.
(g) The roads on Pennsylvania Mountain are double track Jeep roads averaging 7 feet wide. There
are many roads leading to mines and prospect sites in the area. No improvements to these
roads will be made. A haul road will be built on the mine 15 — 20 feet wide and around 1100
feet in length. There are no runoff or conveyance structures on site or in access areas and none
will be built.
