4 Phase One mining will result in approximately 35 acres of highwall development and 45 acres of pit floor disturbance. At total build out, up to 65 acres of highwall development and up to 90 acres of pit floor disturbance is estimated. (e) An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation. The timetable is for the purpose of establishing the relationship between mining and reclamation during the different phases of a mining operation. An Operator /Applicant shall not be required to meet specific dates for initiation, or completion of mining in a phase as may be identified in the timetable. This does not exempt an Operator /Applicant from complying with the performance standards of Section 3.1. If the operation is intended to be an intermittent operation as defined in Section 34- 32.5- 103(11)(b), C.R.S., the Applicant should include in this exhibit a statement that conforms to the provisions of Section 34- 32.5- 103(11)(b), C.R.S. Such timetable should include: (i) an estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the various stages or phases of the operation; (ii) a description of the size and location of each area to be worked during each phase; and (iii) outlining the sequence in which each stage or phase of the operation will be carried out. (Timetables need not be separate and distinct from the mining plan, but may be incorporated therein.) The life of mine of this deposit is approximately seventy (70) years. Due to the highwall mining technique employed, the mining zone, including stockpile areas, will stay basically in the same area through the life of the mine. While this will keep the mining area in a defined zone with some movement of the working face to the northern and western portions of the mining affected lands, reclamation of the lower reaches of the mining site will not occur until near the end of the life of mine. Reclamation of the highwall areas as described in the 1997 submittal and resubmitted with this application will reflect the stormwater drainage and highwall configurations as planned and will be performed as the granite rock highwall producing face is worked back to the affected land boundaries to the west. At the time of location of lower storm water detention ponds, a technical revision will be tendered to the Division for review and approval. This may not occur for 20 — 30 years from present. MD41NG PHASE TIMETABLE Time Estimate Estimated Disturbance of Affected Land (mining-reclamation) 2013 Approval of Amended acreage and initiation of development work at upper elevation of newly permitted area, southern 10 acres of newly leased land. 2013 -2017 Highwall mining focused on 10 acre (m/1) area at SE corner of the lease area, 660'x660' on side. Mining will progress east to west to western border of lease area. 2017 -2037 Highwall mining to progress south to north to northern end of the lease area. 2037 -2057 Mining of pit floor to 5550' elevation. Mining of highwall areas to north and pit floor may be concurrent depending on business needs and costs. Process fines will used for planting medium in concert with other soil amendments /additions for re- vegetation of the pit floor areas.
