The location of the 19 foot RV to be used during the 14 day exploration activities
is in the proximity of 37.40467/106.51723. Approximately 800 square feet are included
at this location. This is adequate to maneuver the RV into position. The RV will be
parked on stabile ground similar to that of the access road. SJM does not believe the land
will be significantly affected by the RV and its use, and will not affect the bond amount
in place.
SJM wishes to include more equipment into the plan of operations. A small 4000
watt generator will be used to charge the RV battery if needed. It may also be used for
any power tools that may be needed, or halogen work lights in the event that working at
night is needed to accomplish the exploration activities within the 14 day period
proposed. A four wheeler ATV will be used on the access road. The ATV is a much
lighter vehicle than the Dodge 3500 trucks, causing fewer disturbances to the ground. As
the need to get supplies arise, the ATV will be used to transport supplies across the river
from the staging area to the RV site and mine site during the exploration process. This is
an attempt to reduce impact on the access trail.
No equipment will be refueled in or near the water. Fuel will be transported
across the river in the bed of the Dodge truck. If stored on the ground, the 5 gallon fuel
containers will be placed inside plastic tubs as requested.
SJM has contacted the Division of Water Resources. Staff Engineer Pat
McDermott was contacted and provided with all necessary information to evaluate any
potential concerns the Division may have. After reviewing the plan of operations and
attachments the Division has gave word through email to SJM that the Division feels "the
project will cause inconsequential diminishment to the water resources ". If any agency
feels the need to confirm this, Pat McDermott, and the board of commissioners at the
Division of Water Resources, Alamosa office, are informed of the project and may be
contacted.
After the site evaluation conducted on April 12, 2013, the National Forest
ServiceBLM archeologist was not able to perform an evaluation due to snow fall on the
ground. The surveyor for the National Forest ServiceBLM was also not able to settle the
dispute of whether or not the project location is on land not open to mining. SJM has
been informed these two evaluations will be conducted as soon as it is possible.
All equipment, trailers, and transportation vehicles will be power washed clean
and taken to the Monte Vista Rio Grande National Forest/BLM office for an inspection
prior to entering the National Forest.
To date, SJM believes that all questions and concerns with the Boulder Gold
project have been addressed and answered. SJM is not amending the bond amount
calculated by SJM and believes it to be sufficient. SJM will not conduct any prospecting
activities until approval from all governing agencies is obtained. To complete the NOI
application, SJM will be working to take pictures of the proposed affected land before
exploration activities are conducted for reference after reclamation is completed.
