Extreme winds, hail, and flash - flooding do occur in the Creede
area but frequency is widespread and the area affected small. Severe flood-
ing has occurred in the City of Creede from heavy thundershowers is the
summer and from the rapid melting of an abnormally deep snowpack is the
spring. Such conditions have not seriously affected the permit areas to
date.
