➢ Re- contour and re -grade the area to close the original condition;
➢ Replace salvaged growth medium; and
➢ Fertilize, mulch and seed.
Compacted areas will be ripped or disked or otherwise left in a roughened condition prior to
growth medium material replacement. All disturbed areas will be re- graded and contoured to
conform to the natural topographic conditions. Growth material (estimated at 6 inches) will be
spread on top of the re- contoured surface and the site will be seeded using the species list
contained in the Stage 2 District -Wide Exploration Plan of Operation that was approved by the
Forest Service in 2009. RGS will monitor reclaimed sites for reclamation success according to the
requirements of the Forest Service and state of Colorado. Areas to be monitored will include
growth medium placement, re- vegetation success, and presence of erosion. RGS will also
monitor disturbed sites for undesirable and noxious weeds.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND MITIGATION
All management and mitigation measures described in the approved operations plan for the
Bulldog decline and facilities area will apply to this area as well. RGS will utilize management
and mitigation practices that are based on company policies, governmental laws and regulations,
current technology, and best management practices. The objectives of these practices are to
reduce or avoid impacts to the environment and to reclaim disturbed areas.
RGS considers reclamation to be an integral and important component of the Bulldog
Underground Exploration Project. The overall purpose of reclamation is to restore surface
disturbed sites to a beneficial post- mining land use, prevent undue or unnecessary degradation of
the environment, and reclaim disturbed areas so they will be compatible with surrounding
landscape.
RGS will adhere to reclamation goals and plans that have been previously scrutinized and
approved by the Forest Service and Colorado DRMS for this project. These reclamation practices
and procedures are consistent with Forest Service regulations at 36 CFR 228 Subpart A and the
rules and regulations of the requirements of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board.
Upon completion of the full Operation Plan for the Project, RGS will update the current
Stormwater Management Plan and the Reclamation Bond.
Waste Rock Storage Reclamation
RGS will construct the waste rock storage facility (WRSF) in lifts. Concurrent reclamation will be
employed as an integral part of WRSF reclamation. As the outer toe of the WRSF is set, RGS will
place waste rock material in a lift such that the slope of the lower lift can be graded to its final 3H:
1V configuration while construction of the upper lifts is continuing. Prior to WRSF construction,
growth medium (approximately 6 inches) will be removed and stockpiled near the WRSF and all
required sediment control measures will be in place.
Reclamation of each lift of the WRSF will proceed as follows:
