Mining Permit #M1979 -002. The City of Delta has purchased the property and is
currently looking at the property to be developed into a Park for the residents of the area.
In this proposal we are asking for a Technical revision of the current plan. The original plan
was to make this into a recreational area for public use. We are proposing to do that.
• In that we need the ability to build three parking areas for the people to utilize the
property which would be about 50,000 sq. ft. in size.
• Also in addition to the parking areas we will be adding roads to those parking areas
along with a maintenance road for the park which will add another 3.5 to 4.5 acres.
For a total of approx. 6 Acres of graveled areas.
• This will also include about 2 acres of Picnic and playground area.
• In addition we will also be adding about 2,600 to 3,000 ft of trails through the
wooded areas. The trails will be 8ft in width as to provide handi -cap accessibility
also for security and maintenance vehicles.
• We will be looking at the removal of all of the Tamarisk and Russian Olive as
required by the original plan as well as other noxious weeds.
• Also included in the plan is the sloping of the berms around the lake and the sloping
of the shore line of the lake to the required 3 to 1 slope.
• Removal of waste piles, there are currently 6 piles of crusher fines, rejected
Asphalt, Lime stone, and chips. All material except the Asphalt will be used in other
areas of the property from sloping of the lake and shore line to assisting in soil prep
for grasses.
• Rejected Asphalt is being hauled off by Delta County to be recycled into its Asphalt
program.
• Crusher fines and berms will be used for the soil remediation of disturbed area's as
to allow grasses to grow where the top soil was removed. In order to comply with
this stipulation we are proposing the following: Ripping of the compacted soils in
those area's adding approx. 2 inches of compost to the ground and then putting
crusher fines down then re- ripping the soil to mix compost along with an application
of fertilizer prior to planting a drought resistant prairie type grass in those area's.
They are as follows Westem Wheatgrass, Agropyron smithii. & Streambank
wheatgrass, Agropyron riparium. Drilling rate of 16Ibs. and 11 Ibs. per acre, and
doubled if broadcasted.
• The soil from the berms around the lake will be lowered to meet the requirements of
the plan, they will also be added to the area that needs top soil this will also assist in
soil requirements. ft will also give us the ability to adjust shore linEggpettatbe 3 D to
IVE
A ( 5 ?013
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
